(coming soon) 18th April - Frinton and Walton Under 8's Blues 9 Rowhedge Under 8's Blues 1 A midday kick off for the lads and almost straight from it Josh Seward made it 1-0 to us. He added number 2 a few minutes later then Bradley Stock got his first goal for the club. Three became four just before half time, Josh getting his hat-trick putting big smiles on the boys faces. At halftime they could not wait to get started again, but were caught out when Rowhedge scored, although this only kicked them into gear again with further goals coming from Josh 2 (to make it 5 in all) and a hat-trick from Kieran Manning, one from the penalty spot. This was a game in which we played our socks off in every department with each player playing their hearts out. Well done to you all. Colin 18th April - Frinton and Walton Under 7's/8's 3 Rowhedge Under 8's 1 Frinton started brightly in this match, playing good football, but went 1-0 down halfway through the first half. The lead didn’t last long as Charlie Collis was sent through to equalize. This was one of those end to end games when anyone could have scored next. Ben Palfry playing in goal for the very first time made some fine saves to keep it 1-1 until halftime. The second half was much the same but for Charlie Collis scoring two more goals to complete his hat-trick, taking his chances with composure. Well done to each and every one of the lads. Keep it up. Colin 25th April - Little Oakley Under 8's Blues 0 Frinton and Walton Under 8's Blues 2 Frinton travelled away to Dovercourt to play this Under 8's friendly with Little Oakley, on a warm Sunday morning. Frinton and Walton got off to a flyer with a penalty in the third minute which was converted in style by Kieran Manning. 1-0 soon became 2-0 when man of the match Tobian Gledhill hit the back of the net with a smooth strike of the ball. This put us in a great position at half time, and with a good half time team talk the lads went out and played some great link up play and went close on a few occasions. They also defended with grit and determination, especially Fred Parsons. Well done the lads and the parents who came to support them all. Colin 25th April - Little Oakley Under 8's Reds 2 Frinton and Walton Under 7's/8's Reds After having a good win the week before we came up against a well organised team, both sides were trying to break the deadlock with Frinton going close, Ben Dickson going closest. Oakley took the lead 1-0 and this is how it stayed until half time. The second half got started and Frinton kept pressing for the equalizer but were caught out on the break when Oakley made it 2-0. A special mention for George Lawrence playing only his second game in goal and making some great saves and blocks. This was a decent work out for the lads as Oakley were a bigger side than us but we gave them a very good game. Thanks to parents for their support. Colin March 7th Frinton & Walton U8’s 2 Frinton & Walton Under 9’s 2 A friendly match arranged between Frinton and Walton Under 8's and 9's was held at Frinton playing fields. A cold crisp afternoon for the supporters, who turned out well for both teams. The match started well with some good passing and tackles going in from both sides, But after five minutes a late tackle from the under 9's, gave us a penalty which was converted by Bradley Harris. The lead only lasted a few minutes making it 1-1. It stayed this way until one minute before half time, Josh Seward cut the ball inside to Harry Holloway who cooly finished off to make it 2-1. At the start of the second half a good move down the left with Tommy Cooper and Kieran Manning having shots going close but good defending by the 9's defence. Half way through the second half the under 9's equalised this is how it remained, it was a very good work out for both sets of players. Frinton & Walton Under 7’s & 8’s 4 Frinton & Walton Under 9’s 5 Then Frinton and Walton Under 7's and 8's played against Frinton and Walton Under 9's with the final score 4-5 in the second match arranged as a friendly. The Under 7's started of well, taking the lead after 8 minutes when Charlie Collis blocked a clearance and ran off to score his first goal. Unfortunately a few minutes later for him he put through his own net to make it 1-1. With good team work from the 3 Bens (Wright, Palfry and Dickson) Charlie's despair was turned into joy with him scoring two more goals to complete his hattrick. 3-1 at halftime with the wind against us in the second half the Under 9's upped their game and scored four goals to make the score 5-3 but to give my players big credit they kept going and were rewarded when Tyler Parker made it 5-4. Considering this was most of my young player’s first game they did them selves and myself proud. Thanks to Jason and his teams for making this Sunday one not to forget for everybody who was playing and watching. March 13th Frinton & Walton Under 7’s 7 Colchester Athletic Under 7’s 0 This was an all round team performance not for just the goals we scored, but for some great defending as well, with special praise for Noah Harris and George Lawrence. Two goals by Ben Dickson gave us a 2-0 lead at the break. A few changes at halftime saw Frinton and Walton dominate the second half with two more early goals, Charlie Collis and Ban palfrey scoring them. With still a third of the match to play Ben P, Ben Dickson (completed his hat-trick) and Charlie Collis finished off a convincing win, well played all of you and great support from the parents and friends. Frinton and Walton Under 7's 0 Colchester Athletic Under 7's 0 A very close encounter this second game was, with both sides going close on several occasions. This was only a short game - 7 minutes each way - but was also a joy to watch. Thank you to Colchester Athletic for arranging this game and look forward to playing you again. FC Clacton Under 8's 0 Frinton & Walton Under 8's 1 Frinton and Walton under 8's had their first ever match, a friendly against FC Clacton. The match was played away at Rush Green on the 24th January.
Frinton started the match well, in
the 8th minute the ball was cleared from defence then
flicked on by Charlie Collis, it ran on nicely to
Bradley Harris who ran clear and scored. The
celebrations were a joy to watch, being their first ever
goal scored.
At half time it was 1-0 to Frinton.
The second half we started off well with Miles and Tyler
going really close to adding a second goal. The lads
worked their socks off 'til the final whistle and came
out winning 1-0.
I was very proud of my boys to put
such an energetic performance from start to finish and
showing good team spirit.
I would like to thank Stephen Andrews
and his team for helping to arrange this friendly
against us.
Colin Harris
