Halstead Town Under 12's 1 Frinton & Walton
Under 12's 3
Frinton worked hard for their three points after falling behind to a well worked Halstead goal after 20 mins. Frinton found it hard to get into their stride as Halstead showed great determination all over the pitch and did not allow Frinton to settle. Josh Lake managed to pull Frinton back level with a fantastic drive, giving the goal keeper no chance and they then took the lead before the break following a corner diverted in by Ben Hartley. Frinton finished the scoring with a great strike from Tom Bird following a low level cross from Josh Lake. Although Man of the Match and Captain Anthony Spyrou was not able to score he did come close on a couple of occasions with the Halstead 'keeper pulling off some great saves. Frinton & Walton Under 12's 9 Lawford Junior Blues Under 12's 3 For the second week in succession Frinton started like a train and were quickly 3 goals up with goals from Pat Dixon, Josh Lake and an amazing up and under from Louie Marzec. Captain Anthony Spyrou won the physical battle in midfield. Lawford - lying third in the B league were not used to losing and lost their discipline at times - but Frinton were never put off of their slick passing game as Louie Marzec struck a great 20 yard curling shot into the top corner. On the stroke of half time Frinton's marking went to sleep from a free kick to allow not only a goal to Lawford but also losing their goalkeeper to injury. Man of the match Louie Marzec stepped up as volunteer sub goalkeeper and pulled of 2 great saves while Josh Lake powered in number 5. The industrious Tom Bird made the scoresheet with a deserved goal. Josh Lake manfully took over in goal halfway through the second half to allow Marzec to expertly smash in a 20 yard free kick. Pat Dixon was on hand to finish another passing move for number 8. Frinton tired towards the end and gave two cheap penalties away but the speedy Matt Hills rounded off a fantastic Frinton display racing clear of the offside trap to blast his low shot past a dejected Lawford keeper.Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 6 Reed Hall Sentinels Under 12’s 1 Frinton started strongly against a very physical Sentinels team. Frinton took the lead within 5 minutes through Jack Brownsdon after some great interplay between Pat Dixon and Man of the match Tom Bird. Frinton went into half time 3:1 up with a sweet 20-yard drive from Dixon and a goal from Anthony Spyrou. Frinton were unlucky not to go further ahead before the break hitting the crossbar and having a contentious goal ruled out through offside.Throughout the game Sentinels struggled with the strength and speed of captain Anthony Spyrou and Frinton added to their tally with goals from Matt Hills, Louie Marzec and Tom Bird. Always in control Frinton moved the ball well
to open up the feering defence with some slick one
or two touch passing. Goals were spread out
throughout the team
with Ben Hartley and Harry
Beezer both adding to their season totals,
Anthony Spyrou and top
scorer Pat Dixon both scoring 2 and Josh Lake
getting a hat trick.
With his first goal since going to 11 a side centre
half Stephan Vaughan rose like a salmon to head home
from a corner. Feering
showed determination with scoring a a well worked
break away goal in the second Half. - Man of the
match went to Ben Hartley who
again was at the centre of some great forward
moves.
Brightlingsea Regents Under 12’s 2 Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 4 (League Cup) Frinton went into the last 8 of the League Cup with a convincing win over their A league rivals. Ben Hartley put Frinton on their way with a clinical close range finish. Brightlingsea scored an equaliser after some neat interplay. Jack Brownsdon volleyed to make it 2:1 before half time.Frinton controlled the game throughout and added with efforts from Man of the match Ben Hartley and Louie Marzec smashed home to make it 4. There were many good performances notably from Louie Carrington and Stephen Vaughan in defence. Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 5 Halstead Town Under 12’s 0 Frinton started strongly scoring an early goal through top-scorer Pat Dixon, minutes later Frinton should have had a penalty after Jack Brownsdon was hacked down in the box, justice was done when Mat Hills scored as Halstead were unable to clear from inside the 6yard box. Man-of-the-match Rhys Collins went on a mazy run slotting Jack Brownsdon in for a tap-in at the near post third. Frinton were always in control adding further second half goals from Pat Dixon and Josh Lake after Jack Brownsdon was again taken down in the area. Cornard Dynamos Under 12’s 3 Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 0 (Open Cup 2nd Rnd) Frinton travelled to Cornard in the first round of the Open Cup. Frinton lie second in the B league and Cornard are second in the A league. There was little between the two teams and both had chances in a hard fought first half. Josh Lake saw a header rise over the bar after 5 minutes and later Ben Hartley fired wide. Cornard showed their class with a swift and incisive move down the left to lead at halftime. Frinton showed real heart in the second period but were shut out by a busy and quick Cornard midfield. Frinton were undone twice in the second half by poor marking in the midfield. Louie Carrington was man of the match - but was run close with excellent performances from his defensive partner Stephen Vaughan and a superb goalkeeping display by Jack the Cat Coleman. Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 1 Boxford Rovers Under 12’s 0 Frinton started strongly having early efforts saved . Man-of-the-match Anthony Spyrou finally broke the deadlock midway through the 1st half with a long range piledriver which the Boxford keeper could only push into his own net. Frinton keeper Jack Coleman made a superb save from a long range effort however had very little action in the second half with Frinton pushing for more goals but failing to convert any. Louis Carrington and Stephen Vaughan were commanding in defence and Ben Hartley had a superb game up front.Great Bentley Under 12’s 1 Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 3 The game started pretty good for Great Bentley and they pressurised Frinton throughout. Frinton had a few chances in the first half but couldn’t put them away and just before to half time Great Bentley scored a goal from the edge of the area. As soon as the second half started Frinton started to play their football and they got a great goal out of it, it was a great corner from Josh Lake for Anthony Spyrou to head the ball straight into the back of the net. After the goal Frinton started to up their game even more and soon got a second goal from a corner by Louie Marzec for Tom Bird to turn and shoot. Great Bentley to their credit tried to get a goal back but when josh lake nut-megged the covering defender to set up Pat Dixon who kept his drive down low and past the keeper from the edge of the box to finish the game off. Man of the match was won by Tom Bird who worked tirelessly through out Rowhedge Under 12’s 0 Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 11 Frinton were quickly into their stride and were four nil up within ten minutes with goals from Louie Marzec and a hat-trick from Jack Brownsdon. Pat Dixon (2), Anthony Spyrou and Matt Hills made it 8 before half time.Rowhedge showed fighting spirit in the second half and never gave up but man-of-the-match Anthony Spyrou added his second. Dixon showed his skills to score another to complete his hat-trick while Matthew Hills was in the right place at the right time to score his second and Frinton’s eleventh. Great Bentley Under 12’s 1 Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 3 Frinton adapted quickly to an experimental formation and were quickly 2goals up through jack brownsdon and pat dixon.Bentley took advantage of the windy conditions in the second half and deservedly came back into the game. Anthony Spyrou capped a fine performance with a headed goal after a great run by Louie Marzec. Josh Lake won man of the match with a determined midfield performance.Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 5 Feering Falcons Under 12’s 0Frinton eased into second spot in the league with a comfortable win over Feering. Harry Beezer kept his cool to slot home after 5 minutes after some slick interplay from Dixon and Tom Bird.Louie Marzec made it 2.0 before half time with a great long range drilled free kick.Brownsdon nodded home to make it 3 before Harry Nayim Johnson looped a speculative long range shot over the Feering goalkeeper.Captain Anthony Spyrou capped a fine performance with a powerful drive. Boxford Rovers Under 12’s 1 Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 11 Frinton took charge from the off and their quick passing game meant they went into the break 2-0 up with goals from Pat Dixon and a tap in on the back post from Jack Brownsdon and with Jack Coleman in the goal making a fine one handed save down low to his right when Boxford did threaten Frinton couldn't wait for the second half. With a brace from both captain Antony Spyrou and Louie Marzec and a headed goal from Harry Johnson which saw the biggest cheer (1st Goal in two Years). A second from Pat Dixon and an out of the box hat-trick from Josh Lake concluded the scoring for Frinton. Although Boxford did get one back Frinton always looked in charge, a very good team display. Frinton quickly took control of this
game and took a deserved lead when their keeper parried a shot
from Brownsdon into the path of Pat
Dixon who gladly accepted the gift. Frinton
continued to force the play inspired by captain Anthony Spyrou
and were unlucky not to go 2 up when Jack
Brownsdon lobbed the keeper only to be denied by the bar.
Heybridge came into the game more
towards the end of the half and equalised before half time. Jack
Coleman was excellent throughout in goal.
Frinton & Walton U12’s 6 Great Bentley U12 Blues 0 Frinton played well from the start and never gave Gt Bentley any time or space to play. After immense pressure a dogged Bentley defence gave way and Pat Dixon was on hand to prod home after a goal mouth scramble. Captain Anthony Spyrou showed his power, pace and a deft touch to ensure Frinton went into half time with a 2 goal lead.Frinton ran riot in the second half adding goals from Louie Marzec, a second from Spyrou and Ben Hartley added 2 more displaying his class and acool head. This was a great team effort from Frinton, Pat Dixon won man of the match with his hard work and great vision. Reed Hall Sentinels U12 2 Frinton & Walton U12 5 Frinton travelled away to a tough tackling Reed Hall side who had not lost a home fixture in all of last season. In a difficult 1st half Frinton conceded early but fought back to 1:1 before 1/2 time with a great strike from Harry Beezer. In the second half Frinton showed their class led by their inspirational captain Anthony Spyrou. Jack Brownsdon made it 2:1 with an excellent 20 yard shot. Classy finishes by Josh Lake, Pat Dixon and Ben Hartley ensured Frinton's deserved win. Fast improving Sweeper Stephen Vaughan won the man of the match award. Heybridge Swifts (a)
For the
first game of the season Frinton
travelled away to Heybridge to play
on massive pitch.
Heybridge were very quickly into
their stride and took an early 2
goal lead - with the impressive back
four of Vaughan, Johnson Carrington
and Collins doing well to keep the
score down. Dixon was unlucky not to
pull one back before half time when
he outpaced the Heybridge defence
and was denied by the post.
The game changed completely in the
second half and Frinton harried and
chased every ball and worked
tirelessly - Louie Marzec scored
with a peach of a shot from 20 yards
out.
Frinton earned a deserved draw late
on after a goalmouth scramble was
finished neatly by Pat Dixon.
Man of the match went to a very
determined Harry Johnson at Right
back.

Frinton and Walton YFC battled hard despite fielding a depleted
squad Mark’s Hall Under 11’s 11 Frinton & Walton Under 11’s 2Frinton faced a difficult away tie with 2 influential players unavailable and were quickly 4-0 down playing against the wind.Frinton battled superbly against a powerful team and were rewarded with 2 fantastic goals from birthday boys Josh Lake and Jack Brownsdon. In a very enjoyable game goalkeepers Jack Coleman and Tommy Wainwright needed to be on top form and made some classy and brave saves. Man of the match went to the tough tackling George Poole. Great Bentley Under 11’s 1 Frinton & Walton Under 11’s 1 Great Bentley had all the play in the first half and took a deserved lead on their heavy home pitch. Frinton were a completely different team after the Lakey 1/2 time team talk and dominated the second half. A long, flighted pass from Louie Marzec found Josh Lake who outpaced the defence and kept his composure to lob the keeper from the edge of the box.Striker Jack Brownsdon who was busy and energetic from the start won Man of The Match for Frinton.In a nail-biting finale Frinton had enough chances to win but were thwarted by a resolute Bentley defence. Holland FC Under 11 Reds 0 Frinton & Walton Under 11’s 4Frinton had most of the play in the first half but failed to score against a strong Holland defence. Frinton turned on the style in the second half , Josh Lake broke the deadlock then added a second with a 20 yard Bobby Dazzler. Pat Dixon added a third and the tricky Jack Brownsdon finished off the deserved win. Louis Carrington took the Man of the Match award for an industrious performance in the heart of the midfield.Halstead Town Under 11’s 2 Frinton & Walton Under 11’s 4Frinton won through impressively in the cup despite suffering a severely depleted squad due to illness. Speedy centre forward Matt Hills coolly slotted home an early chance before Louie Marzek curled in a corner. Halstead put up a spirited performance throughout. Pat Dixon rounded off a fine Frinton move with a powerful right-footed goal and the scoring was rounded off late on by an unfortunate own goal after some heavy pressure from Frinton. Harry Johnson and Jamie Chitticks were impressive in defence. Louie Marzek was awarded Man of the Match for a commanding Midfield performance. In this hard fought contest
Frinton's first half possession won through. Holland FC Under 11’s Blues 5 Frinton & Walton Under 11’s 0 Holland started strongly and were 2:0 up at half time. Frinton rallied in the second half and really took the game to Holland and were unlucky not to score. Frinton committed more and more players forward leaving themselves vulnerable to swift counter attacks. Man of the Match for Frinton was Harry Johnson. Frinton started strongly and took a deserved lead early on
through a cool strike
from Matt Hills. The Bures keeper was on fine form but couldn't
keep out a volley
from Jack Brownsdon. Frinton went in at the break 2-0 up. Brightlingsea Regent Under 11’s 0 Frinton & Walton Under 11’s 2 Frinton enjoyed the lion’s share of the play in the first half and were unlucky not to go in front when a Matt Hills goal was disallowed for offside.Anthony Spyrou was commanding in the midfield and Frinton took a deserved lead in the second half with a deft long-range chip by man of the match Jack Brownsdon. Frinton & Walton Under 11's 12 Bures United Under 11’s 0Frinton worked hard in the first half and managed to go into the interval 4-0 up. Jack Brownsdon started the scoring with the only headed goal of the game when he powerfully met a Louie Marzec corner. This was after Josh Lake had already a corner cleared of the line. Jack brought his tally up to two in the second half. The Frinton defence of Harry Johnson, George Poole, Luke Roberts and Stephan Vaughan were disciplined and Louis Carrington foraging meant that two of the midfielders, Patrick Dixon and Anthony Spyrou were both able to score hat-tricks and Louie Marzec also managed to get on the score sheet. A second half hat-trick from Harry Beezer completed the scoring. Further chances from Matthew Hills and Jamie Chiticks were denied from the goalkeeper and a fine sliding tackle from a Bures United team who to their credit played to the final whistle. midfield - man of the match was awarded
to Tommy Wainwright for a superb penalty
save.
