Match Reports

Halstead Town Under 12's 1 Frinton & Walton Under 12's 3

Frinton worked hard for their three points after falling behind to a well worked Halstead goal after 20 mins. Frinton found it hard to get into their stride as Halstead showed great determination all over the pitch and did not allow Frinton to settle. Josh Lake managed to pull Frinton back level with a fantastic drive, giving the goal keeper no chance and they then took the lead before the break following a corner diverted in by Ben Hartley. Frinton finished the scoring with a great strike from Tom Bird following a low level cross from Josh Lake. Although Man of the Match and Captain Anthony Spyrou was not able to score he did come close on a couple of occasions with the Halstead 'keeper pulling off some great saves.

Frinton & Walton Under 12's 9 Lawford Junior Blues Under 12's 3

For the second week in succession Frinton started like a train and were quickly 3 goals up with goals from Pat Dixon, Josh Lake and an amazing up and under from Louie Marzec. Captain Anthony Spyrou won the physical battle in midfield.

Lawford - lying third in the B league were not used to losing and lost their discipline at times - but Frinton were never put off of their slick passing game as Louie Marzec struck a great 20 yard curling shot into the top corner. On the stroke of half time Frinton's marking went to sleep from a free kick to allow not only a goal to Lawford but also losing their goalkeeper to injury.

Man of the match Louie Marzec stepped up as volunteer sub goalkeeper and pulled of 2 great saves while Josh Lake powered in number 5. The industrious Tom Bird made the scoresheet with a deserved goal. Josh Lake manfully took over in goal halfway through the second half to allow Marzec to expertly smash in a 20 yard free kick.

Pat Dixon was on hand to finish another passing move for number 8. Frinton tired towards the end and gave two cheap penalties away but the speedy Matt Hills rounded off a fantastic Frinton display racing clear of the offside trap to blast his low shot past a dejected Lawford keeper.

Frinton & Walton Under 12’s 6 Reed Hall Sentinels Under 12’s 1
