Frinton & Walton U10 Reds 2 Wivenhoe Youth U10 Reds 1
Frinton and Walton started like a train and were 2-0 up by half
time following a typical strikers goal from Matt Hills and a
superb corner routine that saw Steven Vaughan spot the run to
the edge of the box from Harry Beezer who placed the ball
through the crowded box into the bottom corner.
The second half however saw Wivenhoe battling hard and fully
deserved their goal and had it not been for makeshift goalkeeper
Robert Wedge closing down the angles late on Wivenhoe could have
got their draw.

Following on from last weeks cup triumph Frinton managed their
first league win
It was a tight contest with both sides coming close in the first
half and with Frinton Goal keeper Tommy Wainwright having to
come off with a bruised thumb following a save towards the end
of thee first half. He was replaced in the second half by
Patrick Milnes who made two good saves down to his left but with
a fine display of football from Frinton it was Harry Beezer who
struck first with a thunderous drive in to the bottom corner
following sustained pressure. Then Lewis long in only his second
game chipped into the top corner from the edge of the box
following some foraging from the captain George Poole

The Reds started
well and played the ball around and worked as a team. There was
some good inter-lock play between Stephen, Rhys and Harry. The
reds pushed forward and broke through the Cressing midfield and
Robert scored from just outside the penalty area. The reds eager
to get a second goal surged forward again and it came from a
snap shot by Harry. Stephen kept the pressure on a nearly
managed the reds third goal with a drive which just cleared the
Cressing cross bar. Cressing managed to gather themselves and
broke through the Reds defence to score and make it 2-1 just
before the half time whistle.
Straight from the kick off the reds kept up their concentration
as Cressing searched for a second goal. However George in the
centre of midfield broke down one of their moves and pushed
forward passing the ball to Matthew who calmly knocked home the
reds 3rd goal. Cressing tried again to break the reds defence,
however Robert and Luke held strong. On a couple of occasions
when Cressing did manage to get through Tommy made two excellent
saves.
From one of the resulting saves, the reds gathered the ball and
passed
it from one side of the pitch to the other and from a low cross
Rhys
got his foot first to the ball to score the reds 4th.
Straight from the resulting kick off Matthew attacked the ball
and made a fine pass to Stephen who struck the ball into the
left hand side of the Cressing goal for the reds 5th goal.
Further substitutions were made where Luke and Louis made some
timely
challenges, one of which led to the reds 6th goal by Harry
striking
the ball into the roof of the net. The reds pushed on for a 7th
and it nearly came from Harry's looping header which just
cleared the Cressing cross bar. A now deflated Cressing side
could find no more and just before the final whistle Matthew
made an excellent run and scored the reds 7th.
Superb effort. Well Done Reds!
