Welcome to the website of
Frinton & Walton Youth Football Club.
We were founded in 1978. All
work undertaken by the managers and officials of this club
is on a voluntary basis. They do however recognise their
responsibilities in the roles they have undertaken. Their
prime objectives are to make football enjoyable for the
children whilst encouraging their football development. The
safety of our members is paramount at all times.
Our Life President is Mr Bob
Mills. Bob retired from refereeing local football in 2006
after 36 years service. He had refereed all standards of
local football, and is therefore widely known and respected
throughout the local football community. Bob considers that
he got most enjoyment from the officiating at youth matches.
We consider it an honour to have Bob as our Life President.
All of
our squads have FA Club Coach Level 1 qualified coaches. We
are therefore able to offer all our players a standard of
coaching that meets the FA's guidelines.
We are also fortunate to have as
our Life Vice President Russell Bettany. Russell is another
long standing member of the Club having been with us since
1994. He is qualified to FA Club Coach Level 2 and coaches
with the Ipswich Town academy. This obviously benefits the
Club as Russell runs specialist coaching sessions with all
of our age groups.
We are also forging links with
local schools to promote the Club in our local community. We
believe children should be given the opportunity to coach as
well as play football, and it is through these links that we
are seeking to provide coaching experience for youths.
Our FA qualified Child
Welfare Officer (CWO) liaises with the FA's CRB unit to
have criminal records bureau checking of all club officials
and managers.
We have teams competing in all
age groups of the Colchester and District Youth Football
League from under 9's up to under 16's. We look to form an under 8's section
each year as a feeder for our under 9's for the following
season.
We encourage the involvement of
girls in youth football, although the rules only permit
mixed squads up to and including the under 11's age group.
We do have mixed squads in these age groups. We are
also investigating running an under 12's girls section, with
a view to forming a side. Please contact us should you be
interested in running or participating in that.
We are also working toward FA
Charter Standard. The scheme is a core component of the FA
Football Development programme and recognises clubs that are
well run, measuring them on a number of criteria, both on
and off the field.
Now that you have a flavour for
our club please take a look around our website, and thank
you for visiting. |

New crop of players required
for new Mini Soccer squads
Now the current season is up
and running FWYFC is already starting work on developing
squads of players for what will be the under 9's and
under 8's next season.
If there are boys or girls
aged either 6 or 7 at the start of the current school
year (current school years 1 &2) wanting to give
organised football and training a try we will be
starting up training for children on associate terms
(i.e. not playing league matches) in a few weeks time.
Please contact the
Chairman, Vice Chairman or
Secretary for further information.

FA Coaching courses
As a football club
responsible for coaching youngsters it is always of
paramount importance to us that those youngsters get the
right type of coaching by trained coaches.
Congratulations to Paul
Perryman and Albert Wiles from the Under 10's and John
Lake and Tim Brownsdon from the Under 8's, all of whom
successfully completed the course which entailed two
full weekends in Upminster.
Please go to the news page
for the full story.
Club Merchandise
How would you like to get
great sports clothing at fantastic prices whilst
supporting our club? Not everyone has the time to help
out with coaching the kids or running the club, but this
is a great way of you doing something for the club. Take
a look at the club news page for further details.
Soccer Parent
As parents and carers
of children that play football we have an important role
to play. The FA recognises this and through its online
totally free Soccer Parent course provides an
insight into how we should all behave. Please see our
news page for more details.

Child Welfare
This subject is obviously
paramount to us all at all times. Esther Beach as our
Child Welfare Officer, wrote to all of the club's
coaches to ensure they were aware of the FA's guidelines
regarding child welfare. The full letter as sent to our
coaches can be seen on the news page.
